YOUR HAPPY HOLIDAY ON THE SUNNY BEACH
Current travel information
On this page we would like to inform you about the current entry and residence conditions in Sri Lanka due to COVID-19.
Summary of the most important editions:
Before you start preparing for your trip to Sri Lanka, you should consider the following:
No minimum number of days is required for a stay.
No restrictive quarantine is required.
"Fully vaccinated" travellers can stay in any type of accommodation and no PCR test is required on arrival.
"Non-fully vaccinated" travellers stay in a "flexible bio-bubble" where all hotel facilities are available and there is the possibility to visit approved sites.
A Negative COVID-19 PCR report in English must be presented for entry into Sri Lanka, within 72 hours prior to entry (all travellers except children under 12 years of age).
Children under 12 years of age are exempt from PCR and rapid antigen testing on arrival and departure.
All visitors pay compulsory local Covid-19 insurance of USD 12 with a one-month cover of USD 50,000 (payment via visitsrilanka.gov.lk / SLTDA). Fully vaccinated travellers are exempt from purchasing mandatory COVID-19 insurance until 31 December 2021. However, fully vaccinated travellers should ensure that they have comprehensive travel insurance to cover health and other costs associated with COVID-19. If they are accompanied by unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated children (of all ages), they should ensure that the comprehensive travel insurance is extended to cover the children adequately.
All visitors who are not fully vaccinated must pay in advance for the mandatory PCR tests (USD 40 per PCR test). Payment is made through visitsrilanka.gov.lk.
A health declaration form must be completed upon entry. A separate form must be submitted for each accompanying child (if any). With effect from 01.01.2022, all travellers arriving in Sri Lanka through airports will be required to complete the online health declaration form individually and upload the relevant documents before boarding (vaccination certificate, negative COVID-19 pre-departure test report, passport data page). They should arrive with the QR code (on mobile phone or hard copy) they received.
All visitors must apply for their visa online via eta.gov.lk.
